Mike Scher graduated from UW-Whitewater in 2002 with a degree in Marketing.  He was introduced to Northwestern Mutual through their internship program in his junior year at Whitewater.  Despite abundant success during the internship he didn’t go full time with Northwestern Mutual when he graduated because he was “chicken” and feared 100% commission right out of college.

He took a position with Wells Fargo Financial Acceptance doing high interest lending.  It didn’t take long before he realized he didn’t enjoy what he was doing and didn’t agree with the lending practices of the institution.  Within 10 months he was back with Northwestern Mutual as a full time financial representative and hasn’t looked back.

Mike is currently a Managing Director with Northwestern Mutual which allows him to utilize his passion for helping his clients meet their future financial goals and for attracting and developing other financial representative candidates.  He qualified for Million Dollar Round Table in his first full year and has achieved that award 4 out of 6 years in the business.  He runs a high activity, high lives practice out of Watertown.

Mike lives in Watertown with his wife Carmen and five children.  The youngest of the five children are twins.  He enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing golf, softball, and volleyball and is a diehard Packers fan.
